How an AI idol is made — MYBLIN9 explains the seven steps behind SweeTeez

From character design to songs, choreography, music videos, short dramas, live shows and fan chat — the studio behind an AI idol with 62 singles walks through its own process.

An AI idol is not finished the moment an image generator produces a face. At MYBLIN9, which plans and produces the five-member AI idol girl group SweeTeez, running one group means running the seven steps below. AI generates the visuals and voices, but the decisions and finishing work at every step are done by working creators.

1. Character design
Each member’s look, voice, personality, background, role and catchphrases are designed. SweeTeez are YENA from Korea, YUZUKI and RIRI from Japan, EILEEN from Malaysia and Chinese-American SOPHIE. RIRI, for example, is the loud one “whose volume button is broken”, and that trait carries through the short dramas and fan chats.

2. Selection through an audition
The SweeTeez members were selected from 99 trainees in the AI idol audition project PRODUCE 9. Fan voting builds a relationship between the characters and fans before debut.

3. Music
Working composers finish lyrics, composition and arrangement using AI as a production tool. Mixing and AI-music mastering (MasteringOne) are done in-house. SweeTeez have released 62 digital singles, from the July 2025 debut “Sugar Rush” to “DOCE DOCE” in September 2026.

4. Choreography and performance
Professional dancers’ choreography is motion-captured and applied to the members’ performances. Dance-challenge shorts are cut from the same material.

5. Music videos
Scenes are designed around each song’s world; visuals are AI-generated, while script, direction and editing are done by people. Music videos are on the official MYBLIN9 YouTube channel (@myblin9).

6. Short dramas and social media
The 30-second school comedy “SweeTeez Theater” runs about 50 episodes per season and is published daily on YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram Reels, giving fans a reason to follow the characters beyond the music.

7. Live shows and fan chat
On October 3, 2026 SweeTeez performed an offline stage on giant LED screens at the K-POP stage of the 2026 Geochang Hanmadang Festival — according to MYBLIN9, a first for an AI idol. Fans can talk with the members directly on the website PRODUCE 9 (produce9.com).

The same pipeline is used to build brand-exclusive AI idols and characters and to produce AI ads. SweeTeez have served as official ambassadors for Zeropay and appeared in commercials for Hyundai Pharm and Nemo Storage. For AI idol or AI ad projects, contact aaa@myblin9.com.
