What is an AI idol?
An AI idol is an idol whose visuals, singing voice and videos are realized with artificial-intelligence technology. Rather than a real person performing as themselves, members designed as characters are active through songs, music videos, short-form videos and communication with fans.
AI idols are not “made automatically” by AI. In the case of SweeTeez by MYBLIN9, all content is produced by professional creators — working composers, choreographers and video directors — collaborating with AI technology.
AI idols vs. virtual idols
Virtual idols are commonly real performers who appear as 3D avatars through motion capture and their own voices — there is a person inside the character. Pure AI idols such as SweeTeez instead realize the singing voice, visuals and videos with AI, and no human performer plays the character. In Korea, acts such as MAVE: (debut 2023) and naevis (debut 2024) drew attention, and SweeTeez debuted in 2025.
How is an AI idol made?
MYBLIN9’s process has five stages: (1) concept and world-building — characters, personalities, point colors; (2) visual production with consistent faces and styles; (3) songwriting and mastering by working composers using AI as a tool; (4) choreography based on motion capture of professional dancers, and music-video production; and (5) rollout through social media and fan-chat platforms. SweeTeez’s 62nd single “DOCE DOCE”, for example, was written, composed and arranged by producer JIHO.
AI idols on a live stage
AI idols are not limited to screens. On October 3, 2026 SweeTeez appeared on the K-POP stage of the 2026 Geochang Hanmadang Festival in Korea and performed new single “DOCE DOCE” for a packed audience on a giant arched LED screen with side relay screens. The three-minute show followed the grammar of a real idol performance — members framed as if standing on the stage, pop-out 3D effects, dance-challenge videos synced to the show and a greeting from each member — and MYBLIN9 describes it as the world’s first offline K-POP stage by an AI idol.
How to check a registered AI idol
Anyone can create an AI idol, but it is not always clear who produces it or which channels are official. On the public AI-idol registry WHOSEBIAS (whosebias.com), registered AI idols receive a registration number and a verified badge, so you can check the production team and official channels. SweeTeez’s registration number is WB-KR-2026-0001. Note that WHOSEBIAS is operated by MYBLIN9 and is not a legal copyright registration.

Do AI idols perform live?
Yes. On October 3, 2026 SweeTeez performed for a packed audience on the K-POP stage of the 2026 Geochang Hanmadang Festival in Korea via a giant LED screen — according to MYBLIN9, the first offline K-POP stage by an AI idol.
How is an AI idol made?
At MYBLIN9, each character’s look, voice, personality and lore are designed first. Working composers then finish the songs using AI as a production tool, and professional dancers’ choreography is motion-captured and applied to the members’ performances. AI generates the visuals and voices, while planning, scripts, direction and editing are done by human creators. The SweeTeez members were selected from 99 trainees in the AI audition project PRODUCE 9.
What is the difference between an AI idol and a virtual idol?
A virtual idol is usually an avatar performed by a human actor through motion capture and voice. An AI idol such as SweeTeez has its visuals and singing voice generated by AI; no single performer plays the character. Instead, a team of composers, choreographers and directors builds each member together with AI.
Can brands cast an AI idol in an ad?
Yes. SweeTeez are official ambassadors for the Korean mobile payment service Zeropay and have appeared in a commercial for Hyundai Pharm’s “Healthy Oligo Pop” and a cinema ad for Nemo Storage. MYBLIN9 casts its own AI artists, develops brand-exclusive AI characters and produces AI ads from concept to delivery (myblin9.com/en/ai-production.html).
Where can I listen to AI idol songs?
SweeTeez have released 62 digital singles, from the July 2025 debut “Sugar Rush” to “DOCE DOCE” in September 2026, on major streaming services such as Apple Music. Music videos are on the official MYBLIN9 YouTube channel (@myblin9).
