About the single
SweeTeez’s 59th digital single, “ECLIPSE,” captures the one moment when the sun and moon overlap.
The title track “ECLIPSE” is a hyperpop EDM anthem on the largest scale of any song SweeTeez has released to date. Stadium-sized synth builds stack up over a 152 BPM four-on-the-floor beat before a massive supersaw drop bursts through as if splitting the sky. The opening line, “Moon kissed the sun and the sky cracked open,” erupts straight into the chorus — a structure that embodies the very emotion the song seeks to capture: a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Golden-hued synth tones and dynamics that surge from whisper to explosion place all their weight on just two words: “right now.”
B-side “MOON OR SUN” sings of the same sun and moon at the opposite temperature. A track fusing dark hyperpop with Eurobeat, it opens with a cold provocation, “You think you know me? Think again,” which explodes alongside a key change from minor to major. The chorus, “Moon or sun, no in between,” is a declaration of refusing to belong anywhere between the self of night and the self of day, revealing SweeTeez’s girl-crush side at its most vivid.
Both songs are set within the universe that began with the 51st single, “Line & View.” The story that once sang “Sun and moon on the same line” to depict an almost-touching yet never-touching distance now expands into two endings: the moment they finally overlap (“ECLIPSE”) and the choice never to overlap (“MOON OR SUN”).
